~ OUTREACH ~

The Outreach Ministry at St. Michael's is the umbrella under which we are involved in many ways of Sharing God's Love. Reaching out to the world around us, locally and worldwide, is how we Share God's Love.
Beginning in 2003, through the leadership of Margie Litterski, St. Michael's has been Sharing God's Love with our deployed soldiers through Operation Appreciation. Three times each year, every Christmas, March and Fourth of July, we collect items for care packages to be sent to the soldiers. The soldiers' names are gathered from anyone in East Texas who know or is related to that deployed soldier. In time for Christmas and the Fourth of July, we send socks, toiletries, snacks, candy and more to over one hundred individual soldiers. We also send big boxes to chaplains for them to distribute to the soldiers they see who may need these items. In March, we send the individual soldiers and the chaplains large boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. Although Margie is no longer leading Operation Appreciation, St. Michael's still hosts the event's storage and packing location. Sharing God's Love with our soldiers.
We are also involved in many local outreach ministries through Longview Community Ministries including the Brown Bag Lunch program and the Meals on Wheels program. St. Michael's also has its own Food Pantry for families in need in East Texas. Learn more about the Food Pantry

The people of St. Michael's also help to support to two local missionaries. Charlotte Hansen, through her High Five Ministries, has a great ministry in East Texas. But she also travels to Belize each year and St. Michael's is proud to support her. Learn more about her ministry to Belize

We also help to support Janet Sue Whetzel who ministers through YWAM in Jamaica. Janet Sue is the base director for Stone's Hope. You can learn more about Janet Sue and her ministry
