New Vision Process
In 2007 the Vestry of St. Michael's began talking and meeting with Reb Scarborough about a New Vision for St. Michael's. It was decided that in looking back at where we've been during our 50th Anniversary year, we should also look forward to where we're going in the future.
The Vestry hired Reb to guide us through the Visioning Process. By the time we celebrate our 50th Anniversary at the end of September and beginning of October 2008, we will have an accurate set of Core Values, a new Mission Statement and a Vision Statement to guide us into action in the next 3-5 years.

St. Michael and All Angels’ is a Spirit-filled Episcopal church known for its: Worship - We freely celebrate God’s love through heartfelt liturgy, music, prayer, and praise. Fellowship - We actively build relationships through welcoming, accepting and supporting all those God brings our way. Prayer - We pray expecting God's love to transform and bring us together. Equipping - We teach the Scriptures and equip God’s people for service in His kingdom. Our Vision for the Next 3-5 Years:
Spiritual Growth: SMAA will nurture spiritual growth in both new and current members through identifying spiritual gifts and encouraging the active use of those gifts in our common ministry of living into God's love. This will include the creation of opportunities for growth in small groups and leadership development. Outreach and Evangelism: SMAA will build an awareness of needs, reaching out both locally and globally to impact lives with God's love, particularly with the underserved and/or un-churched. Youth and Children: SMAA will develop a vital and growing youth and children's ministry centered on God's love for all age levels. Program leadership will include a paid staff person who will provide direct Spirit-enabled ministry to youth and/or children and effective leadership to volunteer lay sponsors and ministries. |
